Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of underground miners to ensure safe and efficient mining operations.
- Oversee daily activities, including drilling, blasting, ore extraction, and equipment operation.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures, promoting a culture of safety among all team members.
- Provide training and guidance to miners to ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
- Monitor production targets and implement strategies to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as geology, engineering, and maintenance, to achieve operational goals.
- Conduct regular inspections of work areas to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of production, equipment usage, and safety incidents.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in underground mining, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of underground mining methods, equipment, and safety practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Proven track record of achieving production targets while prioritizing safety and environmental stewardship.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a related field preferred.
